This graphic novel depicts Henri David Thoreau when he lived in the woods and wrote Walden.

Henri David Thoreau sitting in the sun drawn by John Porcellino. A speech bubble says: "I have, as it were, my own sun and moon and stars, and a little world all to myself"

Review

I’m conflicted about the art. I like the barrenness of the frames, the simplicity of the lines, there’s something soothing to it. But I would want to see more of the lush nature that Thoreau describes.

Finding excerpts across 5 books to use as one-line captions must be a gigantic amount of work. I respect that.

The artist, John Porcellino, has a patreon page if you’re into his art.
