A beautiful book. I discovered in the 10 of the Best Comics to Start With on the YouTube Channel “For the Love of Comics” which is a brilliant, underrated channel. It was probably in my basket for 3 years, and I finally caved in this year.

Underneath the great art, it asks a few questions. Like is it better to live in captivity or die in freedom? What is meaning of liberation? Can it be given or is it earned ?

Reminds of the quote at the end of the first Black Panther movie: “Bury me in the ocean, with my ancestors that jumped from the ships, because they knew death was better than bondage.”

Go read it.
