One of the first JavaScript books I ever read.
Back when I bought it, everyone was talking about “JavaScript, the Good parts” by Douglas Crockford. But that’s a much bigger book, and it felt too abstract for me. “Effective JavaScript” is a great book, there are lots of useful tips to help you understand the language. I definitely didn’t understand all of it, but I learned a lot.
Note: The book is an 8/10 because a lot of it isn’t relevant in the age of post-ES6 JavaScript. But I still recommend getting it if you like books and want to go deep into the language.
