I bought this for a trip to Ireland. I wanted to learn more about the folks songs that you hear in bars and that have such a strong presence in the culture.

Beautiful, thick hardback with a green ribbon marker. For each song, you’ll get an illustration, a photo, an explanation of the meaning and history, and a lead sheet with the melody. (I can’t read sheet music either.) It’s a great book.
